The people that will visit this site are owners of gift shops and small furniture stores who are looking for new products for their stores. Our main customer is the manufacturer/supplier that will be paying a small fee to advertise their products and company on this website. This is NOT an online store. The visitor will have to contact the advertised supplier to purchase products. This website is only intended for gift shop owners (registration is required). This website is not for regular people or end consumers. This site is a place for store owners to find suppliers and manufacturers of gifts and home products.
Sellers: suppliers and manufacturers of gifts, home goods, home accessories, furniture and home products.
Buyers: the owners and managers of small furniture stores, gift stores, home accessories stores, online stores that sell similar products. (Not available to the general public – only to store owners and managers)
The site will be free to all buyers after they register. The sellers will have to pay a small monthly fee to post their company information and products. This is not an online store. This is a large directory of manufacturers and suppliers. If the buyer is interested in a specific product, they must contact the company directly via this website.
Sellers will provide the information for their dedicated page through a simple online form. This will also allow them to upload company and product information and pictures. Each seller is allowed to display up to 20 products with descriptions and one image per product.
This site will be very similar to the functionality of www.alibaba.com and the appearance of www.todl.com.
Format:
When the buyer visits the site, they will look for products in the category menu on the left side of the page. Once they select a specific category and sub-category, all the products listed in the sub-category will appear (similar to alibaba.com). After the buyer selects a specific product, they will be directed to the seller's profile page that will provide all the information about the manufacturer/supplier. From this profile page, the buyer will be able to view the other products offered from this seller. If they click on any of the products in this profile page, they will be send to the detailed “product page” to learn more details about the product, price and shipping information.

After paying a small fee to advertise their products on this website, each seller(the manufacturer or supplier) will have one dedicated profile page(similar to Facebook and Alibaba) showing the products they offer and information about their company (this “Profile Page” is a template or online form that the seller will fill-out for their company. All profile pages will have the same format and layout. This profile page will show their company logo, company information, contact information, address, email etc. It will also show up to 20 products with pictures, prices and descriptions of the products they offer. Within this profile page, they will be able to use a standard template to create their “Product Page” for each product they are selling. This “Product Page” contains more pictures and information about the product and company.
Product Page:
The seller will use a template to create a “Product Page” for each product they are selling. This template will allow 2 more pictures, a detailed description about the product, sizes, colors, shipping information, payment etc. All product pages will have the same layout. This detailed PRODUCT PAGE will be displayed when a buyer the buyer is searching for a specific product in the main category list (similar to alibaba.com)
Organization
When a visitor views the website and is looking for products, they will be offered 2 Primary categories: Home Furniture & D?cor and Wholesale Gifts. Each of these “Primary Categories” will have “Categories”

You must provide a fully functioning, secure, reliable and tested site based on PHP, MySQL, Ajax, and XHTML on Linux. This will be hosted on a dedicated server so Memcached based optimizations to improve speed.
Bid must also cover any graphic design work on front end and a very powerful admin section to manage all the aspects related to this project. The front end look and feel should be similar to told.com, but it should have the user-friendliness and easy navigation of alibaba.com
