Social Website Design Needed

Hello designers,
I typically do development work through this site (as tyrboa), so this is the first time I'll be using SL as a buyer.
I'm working on a new social networking (with a twist) website which I'm looking to launch as soon as possible. However, most people who have seen the site already tell me that while it's simple and to the point, it's a bit bland visually. I completely agree with this.
For the most part, I like the layout as I have it -- I'm just looking for a design to spruce it up and make it look a bit better. Please type "SWDNWN" either in PMB or your bid so I am certain that you've read this project description fully. I'd prefer to work with English speaking designers, although I'm open to anyone who can get the job done. My budget isn't too extreme, so please keep this in mind. This project is ONLY for the design, no programming knowledge required. I'll handle all the implementation of your design with my code.

in a very creative and readable way, slider of 5 slides.
Down the fold will be content in 4-5 tabbertab style and an extended and designer footer with recent blogposts, social icons, about us etc.
I am preferring homepage to be single column and inner pages with a good sidebar.
