Process A Text File In Pytho 2
Required skills: Python
I have two large fixed width text files of mailing addresses that I need to process every month in various ways. I am currently doing all of the steps manually using a collection of shell scripts and unix command line tools. I want to essentially convert these shell scripts into well designed Python code with functions that can do all of the processing in a more efficient manner. Some of the tasks that I currently do are:
* Get 2 files from an FTP server, rename, merge, and modify these 2 files.
* Count the number of records that have and do not have an address2 field.
* The file is sorted by zip code, and I need to split the file into smaller files by every nth row, or by a number of records that my client determines.
* The file has a unix EOL character that needs to be flipped to a dos EOL character.
* The fixed width file layout has to be formatted according to different client needs.
* After processing the files, I need to put the files to several different FTP servers. Then email a report with key stats such as file name, number of records and timedate stamp of FTP upload.
* I want this done in Python because I have a basic understanding of Python and will be able to review and modify code as needed.

Basically creating a post and a gallery from a text file, adding images to a new nextgen gallery entry. As simple as that.

Improve Text Search In A Text File.
Using PHP I do a loop in a text file named A.
For every line at A I look for it in a file named B.
I need to improve the process of looking the info at file B.
My os is CentOS.

It will be a combination of 1 or more of these parameters.
There may be more minor functionality than listed here (to do with categories) but this is effectively what we are looking for.
The program can have a GUI Interface or just be command driven.
Any language is fine, but please indicate which language you will be using.

Php Script Process A .csv File
a very intense PHP script that I use to process a .csv file.
Basically this script reads the input.csv then performs mainly find and replace type of functions to the output.csv
It is similar to what you would do in excel, concatenate cells, find replace, but with some regex and other functions thrown in.
You need to have experience with this and please be reliable, the last guy was great but he had some personal issues and left me hanging..
