Your primary task will be to code web pages using W3C Standards Compliant HTML 4, CSS2, and JavaScript given Photoshop/JPEG images of the web page. A general set of rules will be outlined which must be strictly followed concerning coding and linking practices.

Proficient JavaScript knowledge. In addition, proficient knowledge in the following javascript frameworks required:

o LivePipe (http://livepipe.net/)

Proficient knowledge of Search Engine Optimization (SEO) coding practices.
Rules
An HTML template will be provided, including stand-ins for our header, footer, and any other required global elements. Do not attempt to code these elements out yourself, and please insert your code into the template.
All web pages must be W3C Validated to XHTML Transitional 1.0 and CSS2 using the validator provided by W3C (http://validator.w3.org/)
All web pages must be previewed in the following browsers to check for cross-browser consistency:
o Internet Explorer 8
o Internet Explorer 7
o Internet Explorer 6
o Firefox 2
o Firefox 3
o Firefox 3.5
o Opera 10
o Chrome
o Safari 4
All HTML attributes and values, CSS classes and ids, JavaScript variables and functions must be lower cased.
Use CSS classes instead of ids for styling. Do not create a new class for each element, instead, use the closest reasonable parent element to reference the element to be styled where possible. Limit the number of classes as much as possible.
CSS class names should be named descriptively and underscore-separated. For example, article_comment_author instead of commentAuthor. The same rule applies to JavaScript variables and functions.
<table> tags should be avoided save for the purpose of displaying tabular data, because browsers generally render pages based on CSS faster.
All form elements within a <form> tag must be wrapped in a <fieldset> tag. This applies to the group, and not each individual element.
<label> tags must always be used when labeling an input field.
Use the <p> tag to surround blocks of text, and not as an alignment tool, or a line-break.
Do not use a <div> tag to style selections of text. Instead, use the <span> tag.
Never place CSS styles within the HTML of the web page. Always use the stylesheet.
Never place <script> tags within the HTML content of the web page. You may place them above or below the HTML content depending on the requirements of the script.
Do not include JavaScript in the href attribute of <a> tags. All JavaScript must be included in JavaScript attributes such as onclick and onchange.
All tabbing interfaces, and some navigation interfaces must use <ul> tags as specified in the Control.Tab class in the LivePipe framework.
Use <br> tags only within text and not as a layout tool to position elements.
For SEO, make heavy use of <h1..2..3..etc> tags, styling them where necessary.
Do not use <table> tags to align form elements. One alternative is using the <dl> tag.

An Intranet Application needs a basic html with css web pages to use with a web application, the web page needs a basic header, body and footer, the body with a side menu and content pane. plain professional designs (Coloring, layouts etc) are expected.
