ght way to go. I need something robust that can grow with the school that is customized to meet their specific needs. We can either do a custom wordpress theme or customize an available wordpress theme. I am looking for a web 2.0 design with school website plugins for the functionality.

There are a gazillion hosted solutions out there, but we have a small budget, and I know that we can manage the project and do it ourselves. We are ready to start this process immediately.

We are seeking to re-design and launch a new school website to both enhance the learning for all our current stakeholders, but also provide a platform, where prospective parents, families and staff are able to see the potential and the benefits the school can offer all learners. instead it should be php coded especially or another CMS that I may be unaware of (please show me backend examples if you propose a different system)

I, the father, have html and simple java script knowledge and will be the one in charge of customization and dumping in current content. I really just don't have the expertise to pull off a professional design. I have original pics of things in the school if needed.
