I have an excellent opportunity for skilled developers. The mission is
to write a full-featured software program which has to monitor the
usage of applications running in the system, measure the applications
running times, detect if the application type is the one I specify
when suitable candidate or team has been selected and terminate or
disallow running the applications according to rules also specified
later. The rules are very simple and a customer-facing GUI has to be
developed to modify attributes of the rules.
Also, if this part goes well, there is a another part of the program
which involves creating a HTTP filter proxy or something that blocks
specific HTTP responses depending on the file type. For instance,
let's say I don't want users to see files ending with ".gif" while
browsing the web.
The application should be created using technologies such as C++,
Windows API, WMI (Windows Management Instrumentation) and/or API
hooking. Perhaps knowledge reading the PE file (maybe the IAT (Import
Address Table)) might prove useful in creating the application.
