Our site has an online database of canine pedigrees and we what an experienced expert to show us how to protect the database from being harvested by robots. We of course do not want to effect how Google and other search engines index the site. The database is accessed thru our cgi-bin folder.
So we want the simplest method with the least effect on the rest of the site.
If a human I searching the database for pedigrees they would not access more then 2-3 records in a minute so any more usage then that by a given visitor could be blocked?
We need to be able to verify the data is safe
