Import products from .xml to Joomla Redshop

We are developing a catalog / ecommerce solution based on Joomla 1.7 and Redshop.
One goal of this project is to import product data from .xml file over HTTP into Joomla & Redshop based web site.
Product files will contain complex product information, including multiple custom attributes like color, material, print size, category, etc.
There will be different vendors so different possibilities to parse these files might exist.
We need to write a php script that will automatically read .xml file over HTTP and import products.
Another goal is to automatically update once a day stock information (quantity and price) for the products in catalog, some of the stock resource files being accessible externally, over HTTP.
Stock information will be available in XML.
We are looking for an experienced Redshop/ Joomla programmer. The perfect candidate should be familiar with the Joomla framework and should have a good experience from working or developing with Redshop e-commerce solution.
Configuring, creating or modifying Redshop plugins, modules or even core code will also be required in order to achieve our goals.
It is very important that the candidate understands how previous versions of Redshop work in order to create these scripts for the current version.
