Ruby on rails programmer + web designer needed

There are 2 main parts of this project:
1. Design
2. Programming (ruby on rails)
Design Description
I require:
A skilled designer who can work with my existing design and make it over, basically turn it into something much more amazing. I've attached some screenshots of websites I like the look of. These designs will inspire the revamp of my current design.
You will be giving the site a make over, if that means breaking into bits and putting it back together in a different way then do so. Our logo stays but everything can be replaced. I have PSD's and some mockup of how things could look but I expect you to use your own initiative.
For this design task you must me proficient in:
HTML
CSS
JQUERY
Programming Description
At least 60 - 70% of the programming is done how ever you will look over existing code and make any tweaks you feel are necessary and continue with the rest of the job.
Remaining hings you'll need to code will be:
Search feature with live results as user types
User profile page (site.com/user)
Various account settings (notifications, privacy settings)
User messaging system
Websites main feature
For this programming task you must me proficient in:
RUBY
RUBY ON RAILS
TEST DRIVEN DEVELOPMENT
You will continue the work and we'll use my private github account and also regularly push changes to heroku.
You must:
- have good communication skills, that means regular updates through out the day. You can't leave me in my office for hours wondering what's going on.
- be a fast worker
- be an individual doing all the work unless you have a separate person for design work
- have GTalk/Skype for instant messaging or voice communication, don't mind which one.
Budget for this is $ 450 (I'll cover the fee)

Payment made in stages AFTER each task we agree on is completed.
I will have a better discussion before you are hired in ordered to avoid any later confusion and just to make things clear to one another.
