We need an experienced Delphi Developer to build a Windows Service application to run on Windows Server 2008. The application will run on a scheduled basis, and will migrate data from an ODBC data source to a Firebird 1.5 SQL database. The developer should be familiar with Delphi OO coding practices, Windows internals, ODBC and SQL.
A full specification for what is required is attached. Please review before bidding on this project.

... I believe I can access an ordinary DLL (my programming skills are limited). We do not use COM or .NET.
A good solution might be directing us to the appropriate DLL or API call that can take the assigned name of the paired device, and return two parameters: the outgoing port, and the incoming port. The solution needs to work for XP, Vista, and W7.

Install Exe as Windows Service

I need a similiar program but, I would like to be able to make my exe be installed as a service and automatically started on reboot. However, your program should install the exe as a service in the background so there is no gui, user prompts, or installer. Your program should not require any dependencies. Port C# Tray App into Windows Service
application is online and a new message is received, then a bubble window should notify the user, the same when it is started and new messages are available.
Finally, the current tray application has an auto-update feature, that probably is not going to work for the Windows service, so there needs to be an alternating solution.

Assistance with C# Project, Simple Windows Service
nnection, and if there is NO internet connection, it stops another service running. The other service is proprietary to us, and isn't relevant it can be any service, I can adjust the service in the code myself. But I am having a problem with the timer, I am fairly new to programming, and I create the service just fine, but I cannot get it to work. So really I just need someone to assist with this.

For now, it doesn't actually need to *do* anything, except connect to QuickBooks. I can provide you with a XML request to send to QuickBooks so you can see if it's actually talking to QuickBooks.
I'll require the source code once your done.

The most funny part is that when the same application is run on the same webserver by changing the DB to a Sql Server 2000 its works like a charm.
The operating system beign used is Windows 2003.
