This is a three-part small project. Knowledge of XOOPS would be preferred, but not required.
1.) Backup system for automatically backing up TWO servers over VPN (Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server release 5 (Tikanga) to a WindowsServer2003 R2 server or Mac OS 10.4 server.
2.) Create PHP XML Output from our MySQL (version 5.0.87) by setting up several web URLs that respond with XML Data like this: http://www.compassx2.com/xml/category.php
IMPORTANT: This must be a response from Server in XML Format, NOT Just Export From Database. See details here:

3.) Add some fields to our MySQL database for new incoming data.
BACKGROUND:
Our company publishes the Japanese Yellow Pages of the USA and we have a bilingual website (CompassX2.com) which is a database of about 80,000 businesses located in the USA that are Japanese-related businesses. This website was built using a Japanese version of XOOPS that has been significantly modified. The site and database are hosted on two dedicated Linux RedHat servers (a Web-Sever and a Database-Server)
Another company (the Korean Yellow Pages of the USA) created an App for iPhone and Android that is so great that we decided that we should work together. So... we made a contract with them. "We will use their App with our data."
In order to do it, they said all we need to do is provide them with XML data from our database. More specifically:

We require the following:
1) Category List (First, secondary (bilingual))
2) Shops List (Order by distance, Premium, Silver Listing, Search, Event)
3) Shop Detail information.
4) Receving Photo Upload URL

So, to restate the 3 items in detail, we need:

Parse XML to MySql

Note 1: the scripts has to update the db each 24h (or some other given time period) or i can chose to update right away.
Note 2: at this point we have only these three sources, but in the future we add more. So the one who gets the job now, will have something to do in the long run.

Hi! I have a XML-file with 800 kb. It should be imported into a database-table. The only thing I need, is a php script, which opens the xml-file and imports the data into the cells fitting to the xml-items.
I can offer the file for testing but no database connection. Please do the demo-script on your server with mysql and php. I should be able to see the results, before I accept the script.
