OFED 1.5.4 OFA Setup With Debian Squeeze & Kernel 3.0.4 Featured Projects,

We need to setup an Infiniband storage network. It is nothing fancy. No need for multiple subnet partitions or QoS as the entire network is dedicated only to delivering data for virtual machines.
Hardware includes a Qlogic 12300-BS switch, and Dual Port ConnectX Mellaox (Dell oem) QDR adapters. All hardware has the latest firmware updates (adapters 2.8.0).
You are a kernel hacker extraordinaire. We want to use Debian with the latest 3.0.4 kernel (primarily so Xen Dom0 support is included) on all systems so we only need one set of updates for all systems.
The storage network will use GlusterFS 3.3 RDMA between all systems within the network. To use this of course we need a working Infiniband network. Current versions have problems getting OFA Kernel modules installed. This prevents the IB network from properly working.
You will be given access to 3 servers. Two will be for Xen, and one is a primary storage unit. They all already have Debian Squeeze installed with a compiled version of kernel 3.0.4. If you would prefer starting from a fresh installed environment it can be arranged, but otherwise these systems are ready for you to work on.
Your mission is to provide a make/kernel hack that will allow for the latest OFED package to install properly to kernel 3.x. in debian and give us a working Infiniband network.
To be perfectly clear on the parameters of this job, You will:
- Hack or develop a script workaround to install the latest OFED/OFA package into Debian Squeeze on a linux kernel 3.0.4
- Confirm the IB network is working with 1.5.4 OFED/OFA with all necessary .log files showing proper operation and no error messages.
If there is something fundamentally impossible about this job, you are welcome to submit alternative proposals. (note that in order to use GlusterFS RDMA it requires a minimum of OFED 1.5.2 being used, so the option to use just debian packages is not acceptable (they use ofed 1.4 which doesn't include support for XRC / RDMA).
If you would like to see some samples of what kind of error messages are being generated from attempting to currently make without modification simply PM for those details and any other questions you might have prior to bidding. As you can see from our hire history, we do our best to be fair and get all terms clear before awarding a project.
Time frame for this to be done was yesterday, so sooner the better.
Terms of payment given the short time frame required for the project will be escrow payment in full and released upon delivery and successful testing verification being completed.
