oscommerce to magento database import
Required skills: Magento
Our client is switching from osCommerce to Magento. Their current osCommerce product descriptions use html coding, which does not import nice into Magento.
Need one time help importing data from osc to Magento and preserving the coding. We've made several attempts, however the html code displays as text in the product descriptions. Customer accounts are less important to import (do it if possible), but all products, reviews and/or testimonials are required.
Approx 3400 products.
We prefer a freelancer who has a track record for doing this type of work. Budget is low, however we are flexible on our completion time.

maybe edit the areas in the oscommerce database so that they match the magento database and then export them? Not sure what the best way to do this is but you would know better then we would.
There is a tool for magento that is supposed to migrate over the oscommerce database this may give you something to start with but its out of date and we could not get it to work probably because we have custom info in the database.

Move From Os Commerce To Magento

You can do it with the osCommerce to Magento conversion tool or using your own.

Oscommerce To Magento Database

I need to know, timing, price, and amount of data that can be moved over.
I will provide both databases and I want the new one supplied back complete with the relocated data in a format that I can import into my Magento store.

osCommerce to Magento Migration (few stores)
products will need a description added, some of which will require some html rectification.
so in nutshell, what you have to do is:
1) setup 2 magento stores in multi store setup. (already have two magento templates ready)
2) transfer the products, categories, manufacturers from oscommerce to magento

hey i have a site (negrielectronics) which I need moved from oscommerce to magento. i believe there are automated tools to do this, as we have over 1500 products and many customers (around 9000 i think).
I need the site to look exactly the same when moved over (very minor changes may be allowable, we'll see), with all products and user accounts correctly in place.

we have an OsCommerce 2.2 RCA mysql database and we want to import it to our Magento store the database has more than 1000+ products/items so you can't use the current oscommerce migration tool(cannot handle more than 300 items).

n assume are done. There is a free plugin that does it, but it puts the oscommerce orders into a separate database table, and a separate section in the admin area. This is NOT acceptable, and not what I'm trying to accomplish. I need to have it import the orders in the correct tables of Magento.
I started doing this, but got stuck. I've attached the code I have so far. Feel free to use it. The import must be perfect, and I will provide sample data upon start of the project.
