using WGET to download a youtube video

We can use youtube-dl (latest version) to do it but I cant get WGET to do it anymore.
I can even get an url by using the following youtube-dl syntax
./youtube-dl.py -g $ videoid
but when I pass the result to WGET it fails.
first real bid that has a WORKING example gets the $ 100. Dont waste my time I wont waste yours.
