Our product inventory is based on an MS Access Database and we recently employed a freelancer to develop this database and produce a friendly user interface for us to make it easier to use and integrate with an Excel export.
The freelancer we used outsourced this again and so communication was slow and we were paying more than we needed to, and so we are looking for somebody to continue the work they have done.
This work is ON-GOING since we need more development and changes.
Currently made from:
- MS Access 2003 (Database)
- C# / MS Visual Studio 2010 (Front End)
Some features that are already in use in our software:
- Low stock email notification
- CSV export
- Search & Reports
- Cost calculator
EXAMPLES of changes we would like you to do for us:
- Convert Access Database to SQL so that it runs FASTER
- Change layout of user interface, including moving input text boxes and changing 'TAB order'
- Minor database changes such as adding and removing fields
- Add a calculator to update prices.
- Change Search Results Layout
- Add new Fields
- Adjust Export Feature
Most of the basic work has already been done and we are using this software right now.
- You MUST be experienced and be able to understand (and re-work if necessary) the existing coding.
- You MUST be a good communicator (have a good understanding of English and use MSN Messenger or Skype, where you are online at some point during 10.00-17.00 GMT
- You must be able to start work early this week!
Since there is no specific work being outlined and we will have more requirements to add, we want somebody who is FLEXIBLE an RELIABLE.

This whole application is just for my personal project in school which I don't need to use in the real work, so it can be created very simple, but most of the things should be functional. And it's also better if the coding is written as simple as possible as I need to attach it to my report. I need to get this done before April 2012.

I will give you my project (created with ASP.Net in Visual Studio 2010, using .Net Framework 4.0), I will give you my database which is in Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 (Express or Enterprise will work fine). I will need to test the project in my environment to make sure it works before considering the job complete.

Restructuring and bug fixing of existing Visual Studio ext.
