Webinar Planner Clock
Required skills: Software Architecture
Problem: Online web conferences (known as teleseminars or webinars) are often proposed to an audience who are located globally and in different time zones. Usually the conference organiser just gives one time zone in their initial email invitation. The ability to quickly check this time against the local time to the user is needed.
For example if I receive an email stating that I am invited to a conference call at 8pm PST - I want to put that time and zone into the widget and be told what the time is in my timezone INCLUDING any adjustment for Daylight saving.
User input should be minimum after setup for local timezone location and customisation for time zones to be displayed.
This project is for a Mac widget that is intended to bring functionality to the desktop of your average user. Yes we can all go online to check at the various time&date sites but this is not something regular webinar attendees want to do.
The UI should be smooth, uncluttered and simple with just the essential information on display. A desktop widget is best for this as it is rapid and tidy.
A good example is a widget called TimeScroller which almost does the job required but has the ability to advance and retreat time (which is cool for planning) but no display of TimeZone abbreviations and automatic adjustment for daylight saving. Check out http://www.timescroller.com/About.html
The iPhone app DOES have time zone formatting interestingly. This is shown as an example and should not be seen as the widget to replicate.
Additional functions on the required widget are the ability to also include the date entry for the event and set an alarm reminder and also paste the information into an email so that it can be sent to friends or used to plan a webinar and broadcast times.
I do not want the UI cluttered or the date entry a requirement, therefore the option should exist to hide/disable this 'dpecify date' function.
The alarm reminder and the email buttons should be on the front of the widget. The alarm should allow usual funtion setting and can be discussed further later. It will be basic but similar to iCal with the option to choose day before, hour before etc etc and show alarm on screen.

h a cheesy product. I know that someone out there can do a better job. Even if you can reproduce there product its still better than the month fee. I could be wrong but i think this would be a php app that I could if I wanted to resell to the Internet Marketing Groups.

I'm looking to make a day planner with a alarm clock so that you can set the alarm for each important date, i want important due dates added allready like garbage day,Gas and electric,water & sewer,home phone/cell bill. Do you know which webinar replay system he's using??? Can you look at the code and see if it's something put together just for him, or perhaps something that is available for purchase somewhere on the internet?

- Ability to link two Presets: example count from say 37:00 mins to zero (at 5:00 mins change color to yellow, at 1:00 change color to red, then start counting up until user stops clock.
The important part is the clock must be displayed on 2nd/external monitor while the control panel stays on main screen.

Basically our problem is that we are using full caching to speed up our website so the clock is not refreshing and therfore the coundown is not accurate to the end date.
We need to continue with caching so we are looking for a solution workaround.

a digital clock using 7-segment displays in Assembly
inute section and second section. Each of the minute and second section has been designed to give a count from 00 to 59 after which it resets to 00 and the hour section to give a count from 00 to 23 hours after which it resets to 00. For each cycle of 00 to 59 in second section the minute section increases its count by 1 and for each cycle of 00 to 59 in minute section the hour section increases its count by 1.
