Update OSC gift card module and then port it to UberCart

We have an existing fully functional osCommerce module that enables the shopping cart to process gift card transactions through our system. Gift cards show up as a payment option on the check out screen when the module is installed. NOTE: This is not the same as the built-in gift electronic certificate feature in OSC. When an OSC user wants to get setup to accept gift cards, we simply send them several php files to copy to their server and some additional code that is copied and pasted into a couple of the existing .php files. This PHP module was originally developed in 2006 and I have a 2 phase project related to that: 1.) Test our existing OSC gift card module to make sure that it works with the latest version of OSC. I believe that it will work, but we want to make everything is up to date. (Small adjustments to code may be needed so figure this into your estimate.) After testing is complete, provide us with updated source code and documentation. (If any) Basically, we will send you the php files that we would send to any OSC user and you will need to let us know if everything still works properly or if updates are needed. We have not had any reports of problems so this part of the project should be a fairly strait forward process. 2.) Create a similar module for UberCart. Since UberCart is based on PHP, hopefully the existing PHP code from the OSC module can be useful. Simply put, we need the new UberCart gift card module to do the same thing that the OSC module does for OSC users today. Phase 1 of this project (as described above) will allow you to gain a complete understanding of how the gift card module should work. |
