Hi all, Thanks for reviewing this project. I'm currently looking to hire a talented, small dedicated team or freelancers with great knowledge of CakePHP and/or Ruby on Rails. We are looking to develop an application very similar to that of: http://www.squarespace.com/ http://www.homestead.com/ http://www.webs.com/ But with much more simple, infrastructure and feature content. The service concept will be basically the same as the 3 example above: "Offer business owners and professionals a simple and easy way to create their first websites." They will be able to create an account on our website and select between 3 different packages. Each package will offer them different features and hosting bandwith + space. Each one with a different price-point. We need to create an application that will allow them to: 1. Create an account 2. Purchase package and purchase (monthly charge or free 15-day trial) 3. Choose between different CSS based website Templates/">templates (privately made, specifically for our application) and edit everything as a simple CMS. They should be able to edit everything from a very simple user interface and WYSIWYG editors, etc. Each website our customers create will be located as a subdomain "username.domain.com" Basically I invite you to visit and study the examples above to have a clear understanding of the scope of the project. If you are able to create something similar, that is free of bugs and scalable please feel free to bid. I would be glad to discuss more. IMPORTANT: The bid you post here will NOT be final. I need to discuss more with the winner of the project, before we establish a good price-point. We would also highly consider hiring based on a full-time/part-time position. Important aspects: Our application does not have to have any domain purchasing API or anything. But we do need to offer our customers the ability to purchase a domain from a domain registar and allow them to point the CName to their url "username.domain.com" so they can use their own private domain "companyabc.com" Application should also allow customer to create a limited number of emails with their domain, using an easy to use interface. Application needs to handle and manage the use of our hosting space for our customers. For example, each package will have different restrictions on bandwidth, etc so if possible we would like to make sure the application takes care of this. Application should be able to restrict certain functions depending on the package purchase. For example if they are using the free trial, they can only create up to 4 pages. If they are using a paid package they can create up to 10. Application should accept payment and automatically create accounts after payment is finished. Payment will be done via Paypal and/or a credit card processor. - There are many more things to discuss, and we are looking for a long term relationship. We really want to work with someone that is very passionate about what they do and that is willing to make everything perfect and give ideas to improve everyone's work. We can and/or will take care of all the design, and user interface design but of course we need to work closely with you to make sure we create an interface that you are able to work with and program/code/develop. The first phase of the project will be to gather ideas and make a final plan on the features we need on the application, depending on the possibilities CakePHP or Ruby on Rails allows. - Thanks for your time and happy bidding. Please only bid if you have experience and a good portfolio, or at least can prove that you are a talented person to work with. If you have no experience we won't be able to work with you. I am open to suggestions regarding the use of other framworks such as CakePHP and RubyonRails. I don't have any knowledge about these programming languages, but could see some benefits by using them, specially for scalability. If you have any suggestions feel free to let me know or have any language knowledge you think will improve the application.

Application will come "pre-loaded" with 5 Templates/">templates. More are available for a nominal fee.
Should the user need to edit a site later and add a page to the site, he she can simply login to the system, enter the FTP info for the site, and then the user can import the existing site, read the site file so that he/she will know which template was used, and other options needed to perform an update.
