I'm looking for an experienced electrical engineer/industrial designer that can develop the following product for us. I'd prefer a UK based person so we can liase directly. We then want to take the completed design drawings out for manufaturing quotes, possibly in Asia.
The product:
- To be wall mounted.
- Lockable, water/dust proof, stainless steel case, with hinged door.
- An outdoor 230v electrical plug with a single BS1363 plug.
- Integrated electric meter.
- Integrated on/off timer.
- All required electrical safety protection.
- Designed to gain IP and CE certification.
My background is in industrial design, so I'd like to work with you to understand the product packaging requirements, before working on the aesthetics, and then you can engineer the product, taking it up to the point of prototyping, and then once approved to the point of manufacture.
I don't know what the relevant rules and regulations are that must be met in terms of electrical safety, so you must know these. If you have knowledge of the CE certification process also, that's a bonus.
An agreed amount will be payable on finished drawings for manufacture being issued. Final balance payment will be subject to the product achieving the necessary CE approval. How this works precisely is open for discussion.
