I have a website that has some pretty unfriendy urls
I need someone to make a .htaccess file and the mod rewrite code so that I can have pretty search engine friendly urls.
All of the site links are similar so variables would need to be used so that as I add new members that their links would also use the new format.
I still want the links that are there to work so that I would not break the existing search engine links.

I need a mod rewrite htaccess file written that will rewrite all files except a few specific files
you can start with:
RewriteEngine On
RewriteRule (.*) index.php
but I need the line of code to stop this code rewriting the files:
my_file_125.php and my_file_125.txt

Problem with my Mod Rewrite rule Repost

So is there a problem with this mod-rewrite rule? I can you give you exact URL's and examples in PM.
I've also already proven this has nothing to do with duplicate content.

like http://site.com/daylily/Robin-Frost. The problem I am experiencing is when I look at yahoo site explorer, it picked up http://site.com/general/ with the title of Robin Frost. Also, google only picked up on the URL's that are rewritten, it should have been a couple of the URL's by now.

Htaccess Mod-rewrite 301 Redir

See attached current htaccess files from both stores.
Also attached is the list of URLs to be redirected - they are all either /door-furniture or /interior-exterior-doors
NOTE: You will not have direct access to the site or the htaccess file, but I can test your solution and feedback.

Shouldn't take more than 10 minutes to write this for the expert.
sample of mod rewrite will be like this
www.domain.com/pages.php?sid=8
will rewrite to
www.domain.com/mypagesname/ (eg. archives) then it will be like
www.domain.com/archives/
I don't to include the number like sid=8, I only the name of my page...

Mod Rewrite Code

I have a php script that will accept the variables as such:
index.php?artist=ARTIST&song=SONGNAME&rand=RANDOM_ID
Artist will always be set. Song name and random_id will not always be set. However, it is safe to assume that if the random_id is set, song_name will also be set.
You provide the mod rewrite code and I will integrate it into my .htaccess.

htaccess form that will allow me to write a refferal script in notepad then save it. Once saved I will change the extension to .jpg and my server will then read the jpg as php if the rewrite rule is written correctly. I will also need you to write the referral code for me.

Htaccess / Mod-rewrite Issue
I moved this to another provider and now the admin-section is not longer working. I tried to exclude the admin-folder from mod-rewrite but it did not work. I asked in some forums, but all hints did not work. Now I look for a mod-rewrite expert, which can solve my problem.
I will give you ftp/admin-access if I choose your bid. I cant show your the problem before because I would have to give admin-access to all people who want to bid, which would be not really smart. ;-)
