Inventory/POS NETWORKED on WAN
Required skills: Access DB, Graphic Design, SQL, Visual Basic, Website Design
I need a basic user friendly network most likly WAN system that will connect 3 computers (with capabilities to expand) over the internet on a LAN type network. It will also have an inventory tracking and POS system that will work over that network. The POS/Inventory System must have the following features.
POS:
Customer Name
Customer Address
Product Description
Product Model Number
Quantity
Retail
Our Store Contact Info and Logo
Additional Comments and Any other necessary Sale Info
Employee who did the Sale
The Inventory System:
Product Quantities and Location of those Products
Cost of the Products
Deduct Quantities when a sale is made
Condition (Broken, Open Box, New, Refurb)
Transfer Capabilities
Adjust Capabilities
Which Vendor did it come from
I would like to mimic INFLOW INVENTORY and QUICKBOOKS as much as possible without actually using these softwares. Also this software must be linked up between the stores in a LAN type enviorment. You can use whatever type of server you must (EX SQL, multiple client VPN preferrably a windows software as opposed to a 3rd party ex HAMACHI unless otherwise reccomended) and if you would request a non client Server (as opposed to p2p) that would be fine as well. BE CREATIVE. Also, the system should find a way to work temporarly if the system is down and it should reload once it connects back to the internet/network. I would like this to be as easy to use as possible as not everyone in my company is very computer literate. Please keep the functions to a minimum but make them very efficient fuctions. Also, please make the real easy fuctions very big and nice for an employee. EX.

for transfer and adjustments please simply just put an admin login where this can be easily made from the backend for me.
I also need to be able to view prior sales and have them count up ex sale 1, sale 2, sale 3, sale 4. I have been trying to develop this for a while but now i am just going to simplify it. If this project can be accomplished easily and efficiently there will be much more work to follow. Please also use VB or any visual software to make it as "pretty" so no one gets confused.
I did not list all necessary features such as tax features and monthly sale totals although if you look at demo versions of other POS systems (INFLOW) you must assume the additional features that I am looking for. I will be avalible for questions regardling the software but I am not looking to "built it." I need the builder of this software to use creativity and common sence to include the necessary features that anyone would need for a custom tailored all around retial store POS and INVENTORY SOFTWARE.
FYI this is for a Television retail store. We carry Surround Sounds, Televisions and other small electronics and cables. Please custom tailor that to that type of business as much as possible. Only bid on this is you feel confident in your creativity, networking skills, visual basic and ability to satisfy.

Whilst it cant require servers, it can download information from desktop systems to get more information about other nodes, both in internal and external networks, but it should keep copies of those tables so if the desktop nodes are not present, it has the ability to find nodes in the private network, or on the WAN.
I guess it is really client-less, all nodes become super-nodes in the DHT sense.

VOIP p2p VB App.
minimum is important as well as its a trial idea build not a finished project, and i would need copies of all source code and visual basic project files so i could modify that if needed.
You can use existing open source VB solutions if they help achieve the end goal, but basically i want the end application to be all in one, not an application that interfaces to an existing softphone or something, it needs to be in the app.

So the animations need to be tweaked such that sections not relating to the current menu item are hidden. Once a menu item is clicked on the same effect is used to transition there. But once there all non-selected sections are hidden.
Please note a full Ruby on Rails 3.1 environment will be needed for this.
