I am building a website. My overall concept is larger than my budget will allow, so I am planning on launching this in stages, about 3 months between stages, so the end result will be much larger than just this (Phase #1) project. The initial launch of my website looks to have 3 major components:
(1) The site will mostly be made up of text and photos. As far as the total # of pages, I am estimating 9. The Home Page, 5 different Special Interest pages, a Blog/Message Board page, Photos page, and a Map page. I will provide a lot of the graphics and all the text. Even the 5 Special Interest pages are all very similar, just that each one will have a different layout, but all the features, banners will be the exact same, just in different locations with different backgrounds...
(2) The site is going to be interactive. I want people to register and become members (FREE). Then they will be able to post photos, messages, create avatars, etc. Almost like a social networking site. Most of the interactive stuff is going to be on the Blog page, but also on some of the other pages. Here are a couple of sites that I like when thinking of how I want my site to look and feel:

(3) The website is being created to support a print magazine. I need the magazine to be featured on the website as a virtual magazine. Here is a link to one that I love, although i realize that this might be too agressive for me, but it's the goal:

I've also seen very basic ones where a simple pdf pops up and they can click on the following pages. I don't like that concept, but I'm more bound by cost. I love the idea of being able to put links within the virtual magazine as well. Keep in mind that I will need to update this virtual magazine bi-weekly when the new magazine comes out.

The next feature I want to do is a Virtual Host that pops up and navigates browsers around the various pages and features. I would love to have it in Phase #1, but most quotes I have received put me way over budget. My launch date is mid-July...

website layout design
