We have a requirement to add the Google
Translation service to "selective" parts of our
website, using the Google Language Tools API.
The challenge of this tender is to be able to translate certain parts of the
website while leaving other parts untranslated - ideally if we could attach a tag like "id = translate" to any webpage element and only these elements are translated.
Visit the webpage "http://www.veryquiet.com/shrtfootball.htm" to see the page to be translated.
Also look at the screenshot attached in this tender. The news content marked with GREEN boxes are the ONLY elements that require
translation, ie all boxes containing news content, only some have been boxed in GREEN for information purposes.
Items in RED should not be translated, ie the title name of the provider of the news and the top menu of the
website.
The YELLOW square is where a dropdown list should go with the language selection options here (ie french, german, spanish, etc).
Selecting a language from the dropdown list should switch the GREEN sections to the selected language while leaving all sections in RED untranslated.
Selecting English from the dropdown list should return the webpage to the default English webpage.
When selecting a language from the dropdown list, the dropdown list should show the currently selected language.
Ideally you should use the Google API and create some new
programming to only translate elements which have a "id=translate" tag.
Please contact me if you require more information.
