Seeking a highly skilled (open source) software engineer to put together a social networking site for a niche market. Software choices include liferay.com (Java), alstrasoft.com (PHP) or Ruby on Rails to be discussed and determined prior to build out. Looking to bring site live in 1 to 2 months so rapid development and efficient work is a must.
Need someone to:
Install software on leased server
Develop several new modules (business directory, classifieds, gallery, etc. if not existent)
Make modifications to skins/site layout (menus, colors, placement of ads, etc.)
Make modifications to existing modules (such as adding new features or changing layout)
Configure permissions and access controls on portlets/modules
Requirements:
Must have at least 2 years experience with Java, PHP, and/or Ruby on Rails. Samples of previous work must show experience in all areas from design to implementation to system administration. Must be in or around Los Angeles or San Francisco areas and able to meet several times a week.

Eventually I would like the artists to be able to sell their works from the social networking site giving the website a commission for the sales made since we will provide the site, and credit card processing through the site, but that will have to be later and there will have to be an approval for a store and rules that go with that. But for now, just the social networking will work.
